Course Outline
Prerequisites:
This course shall have no formal pre-requisite.
Course Length:
4 hours - Course length shall vary depending on the number of students. Total course time does not include breaks.
Class Size:
The maximum number of students that may be trained and tested per instructor shall be thirty–five (35) in the classroom session.
Course Objective:
HAZMAT 126 (Hazardous Materials) is designed to teach Department of Transportation shipping, labeling and transport requirements associated with hazardous materials. The target audience for this training are:

A new HM employee or for an existing HM employee whose hazards change, initial training must occur within 90 days. During the interim, the employee is allowed to perform these functions under the direct supervision of a properly trained and knowledgeable hazmat employee.

As recurrent training must occur every three years.

Successful Course Completion:

Requires a minimum score of 70% or better, unless otherwise specified by the student’s employer.

Students will have no more than forty-five (45) minutes to complete the exam.

Grades shall be calculated by dividing the number of questions answered correctly by the total number of exam questions (20).
-
Successful completion of practical sessions is also mandatory.

Exercise Session (Optional)
Each student may participate in the Package Marking and Labeling exercise. For each of these exercises students must choose the most appropriate package for respective HAZMAT contents using provided markings and labels preparing the package for shipment.
