To ensure adequate training to all off shore based personnel, Helicopter Underwater Escape Training has become an adopted standard requirement within the offshore industry. Typical HUET training consists of ground instruction covering helicopter emergency procedures, use of on board safety and other emergency equipment, preparation for water impact, and proper egress procedures in reduced visibility conditions. Under strictly monitored conditions, trainees are placed in the simulator and submerged in water. Trainees learn to exit the simulator, inflate the life jacket, and make their way to the surface.
